West Hartford, VT - 1724.5 miles
No sunrise - just overcast - the stars were so pretty last night - so clear until it got overcast and ready for rain. We were rudely awoke by 2 horses that decided to come and investigate my tent - they were very big and I was very scared - the tent is very thin with no protection - Of course I called for help from Patches - not realizing I called in African - he only understood some...so early... 6am and no coffee yet - thank goodness the horses left me alone!
We started hiking with some soft rain - very humid and hard to hike - about 1 PM it started to rain with heavy thundering & lighting. What a hike - we ran with backpacks over ridges with these pretty wildflowers and thunder & lighting all around us.
At West Hartford, VT we discovered a nice store with fish & chips.....delicious!!! A nice man close to store allows hikers to sleep in his barn - which was 6 hikers, 1 dog and lots of rain outside.
10 miles away from Hanover, NH!!!!!
