Having to much fun to write! May 19 - hiked12 miles - VA is very pretty - rolling mtns with its ridges in some places - some with flat top - some very rocky - hard on the feet - water source is scarce - some of the views are indescribable. We went to Woodshole Hostel - worth every bit. The cabin was built in 1800's - the lady Neville (who runs it) grandparents bought it in 1940, but has not lived here since 1981. Mama Tillie grandmother ran it for 21 yrs with Neville going there for the summer since she was 3 yrs old. Mama Tillie was famous for her biscuits - she passed away a few yrs ago with cancer. Neville and Micheal are running it now for the family since mid April this year. Anyone can help with the night time meal if they want to - I baked the bread and helped make the salad - Patches did the table - Neville cooked rice and vegetables - Michael barbecued - very nice. We slept in bunk house with 7 other hikers. Breakfast was also a feast - home made biscuits - jam - gravy. Patches fixed his back pack after breakfast, then we hiked in to Pearisburg, VA.

May 20 hiked 10 miles to resupply - Hitch hiked to town with a young man that worked at plant where they make cigarette filters (high cancer rate in this town). After re-supply it was time to get back to tent spot. Ate supper in a little restaurant that was a bank - cute place.

May 21 - hiked 14 miles - wonderful hike day on a flat ridge - not much water - found water with tadpoles in pond (luck we have filters) Wonderful sunset from my tent. A married couple from Texas camped with us. Well now the sun is gone - I am going to sleep - hard to stay awake past 8:30

I have eaten at that restaurant that used to be a bank. We had to drive for miles to find it but it was fun. You guys probably hiked right to it. Any new photos available?
