Breakfast at Mayors house

Now all of you know about the mayors house - we had a wonderful breakfast - felt just wonderful - then they dropped us off at the trail head @ 7:30 AM - planned to do 17 miles and enter New York - needless to say we entered new state and were dropped off in pouring rain. I cannot remember when we had to hike a hole day in rain - it is now 8 pm and still pouring rain. What is not wet yet- will be by tomorrow - it also turned cold today. When we decide to do a big day (more than 13 or 14 miles) it either rains or the terrain is so difficult there is no way! Today in pouring rain we hiked on a high ridge - on boulders - high sharp edge for about 6 miles. After slipping and fall #10 I stopped counting and started to slide on my butt. Patches was wonderful he stayed with me to guide me on these slippery rocks. I am very thankful and grateful that after so many falls - no injuries. I did down a few Ibuprofen to prevent muscle stiffness.
